Food, as a phenomenon influenced by culture, economy and social environment, implies a certain selection and preparation. In this framework, it is possible to talk about artificially created junk food, with large amounts of sugars, fat and salt. Due to its components, junk food generates a particular effect on those who eat it: their appetite increases as well as their thirst. Artificially created needs have no limits, they are never satisfied.
Given these characteristics, it is viable to think of information as a type of food whose manipulation results in an exchange of signs: status, fashion, power, the new, the essential, factors that end up desocializing the individual.

Everything is consumed: the end of the world, the zombie apocalypse, the garden that will provide us with food in the face of catastrophes, climate change, pollution, the extraction of natural resources, the next pandemic, social differences and the dying economy together with art, sports, news, shows, travel, food, clothing, as well as love, hate, friendship and affection in general. Because consumerism is much more than a consequence of the need to sell and buy. It is a way of living and also a covert social and ideological control.
